Gender Equality Plan
The Roma Education Fund (REF) is committed to gender equality as a core principle across its governance, employment practices, programmes and partnerships. REF’s Gender Equality Plan promotes equal opportunities and meaningful participation of women and men, with particular attention to the multiple and intersecting barriers faced by Roma women and girls. The Plan integrates gender considerations into programme design, implementation, monitoring and research; supports gender-balanced leadership and decision-making; promotes an inclusive and safe working environment; and applies measures to prevent discrimination, harassment and gender-based violence. Through this approach, REF seeks not only to ensure equality within its own structures but also to contribute to greater educational, economic and leadership opportunities for Roma women and girls across the communities it serves.
